“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)
I am about to share with you a secret. This secret is the foundation to life. Our lives are built and destroyed based on this secret.
So what is the secret you ask? It’s called FAITH. Faith is the fundamental aspect of the human existence. Without it, we give up. If it is misplaced, we wither and die.
With the right kind of faith we persevere and live. The “right kind of faith” I am talking about is faith in God. Hebrews 11:1 states “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
Do you want to go to the next level or enter the next phase of your life? Be certain that entering the next phase of your life will require you to act on faith. For some, that means standing when you feel like running. For others, it may mean remaining silent when you feel like shouting. And still for others, it may mean the ultimate sacrifice—forsaking yourself to do God’s will.
Do you as an individual have faith or willing to develop faith to go to your next level or enter your next phase with God? Before you go to the next level or enter the next phase you must first be sure you fully grasp one of life’s fundamental principles. So if you are ready, then read on.
A Principle of Life
There is a principle of life that was set into order the moment Adam and Eve sinned. Before they sinned this principle did not exist. (Genesis Chapter 3) It is very closely related to the principle of sowing and reaping but differs just slightly.
This principle simply stated is “You have to give something to get something”. This universal principle applies to every aspect of life. Examine your life and you will see it at work everyday, all day. As with all life principles, it works both ways. Meaning it works with you or works against you depending on how you work it. Some of you have given up precious aspects of yourselves to the wrong people or causes, just so you could feel loved and accepted and now find yourself unhappy, unfulfilled, and not where you want to be. Others have denied themselves the instant gratification of “doo-dads”, and now find themselves prospering financially or able to pursue a life-long dream. I know if you examine your life you will see the application of this principle working both ways.
I believe God is asking something of all of us today? Are you willing to live the life you have always dreamed? f so, what person, place, or thing must you be willing to give up unlocking this next phase of your life?
Go Through The Gate of Surender
Hopefully, you have all read some of my previous articles in which I talk about this year being a year of many gates. Each gate is the entrance to a new level of experience and relationship with God. You cannot enter this new level and bring with you the things of the past. You must leave these things at the gate. The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that before you enter and pass through each new gate you must surrender.
You must surrender your dreams and desires. You must surrender all your rights, and everything you think you deserve. You must surrender all, you must surrender yourself. This is not easy and will require more FAITH than you believe you have. It’s tough stuff and not for the faint of heart (actually it is, probably more so J ).
I personally, have had to surrender my right to be loved by the woman I married, and my right to a close relationship with my daughter.
Take heart. Be glad. Be full of good cheer. I tell you a secret. When you surrender yourself to God and walk through the gate into your next phase God is faithful to return to you all of your dreams, desires, etc. that are in accordance with His will for your life. You will find that your dreams and desires are more vivid, more precise. You will also find more energy to bring them to fruition.
God is even wonderful enough to give you additional dreams and desires. It is one of His promises. There is a passage in scripture that says “ Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you ”. Psalms 37:4 says “ Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”.
So what stands before you now, in this season of decisions, is a choice. A choice to surrender and pass through to the next level.
A level full of adventure, suspense, thrills and chills, yet overflowing with God’s blessings. Or you can choose to stay right where you are living the same life, going around the same mountains, dealing with the same issues. I don’t know about you, but I have decided to move through as many gates as set before me this year.
My goal is to achieve the highest level of experience and relationship with the Lord as I can. Psalms 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy: At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” So I ask you again what person, place, or thing or combination thereof must you be willing to surrender to unlock the next phase of your life? I also urge you to ask the Lord to reveal the answers to you. He revealed the answers to me. I know Him to be faithful to do the same for you if you ask.
This year, enter each gate before you with faith and look for God to move supernaturally in your life each time. For it is by FAITH you will overcome. Hebrews 11:33-34 says it the best. It is one of my most favorite in the Bible “who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness , obtained promises , stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle , turned to flight the armies of aliens.”
Lift up your heads those of you that feel down and out! FAITH in God is what you need. FAITH in God will see you through. BY FAITH YOU WILL OVERCOME. Grace be with you!
Keeping the Faith,
Darnell
