Too many job seekers are moving at a frantic pace and in such a hurry to find the perfect job. Unfortunately they have taken a “sense of urgency” to unhealthy levels which have resulted in impatience and intolerance, and uncontrollable emotional spikes. Relationships are damaged and professional reputations become tarnished and lost.
Searching hard for a job can lead to success and landing the job of your dreams; but it must be balanced. Each of us has about 16 hours in each day for work, play and other responsibilities. Many of us are acutely aware that our lives are out of balance. So, what should a person do about it?
- Slow down the pace so that you can truly see every bit of progress you are making on your search.
- Seek help from others when you need it. Don’t let relationships languish or become too isolated.
- Coordinate your energy and efforts to achieve consistent high quality results in your job search, and do this even if you’re not sure what to do next.
- Move forward with purpose—not anxiety or false bravado.

Thank you, I needed to hear this today in fact!
This is so true, I am at this point of my job search where I am in between waiting and receiving. I honestly and seriously love to take this job search to God and wait for His perfect time. Because in the past I hurried too much and ended up not being happy. Our true source of happiness is from God. So. let us seek him first, “delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give the desires of our hearts”. Amen! Praise to the King!
